Joining the American Marketing Association (AMA) at San Diego State University was more than just a typical extracurricular activity. It became a place where I could truly express my creativity, build connections, and step into leadership roles. What started as attending a few engaging workshops quickly turned into an opportunity to dive deep into public speaking, event management, and programming as I took on the roles of Vice President of Workshops and later, VP of Programming. One of my most exciting moments was hosting a hands-on AI workshop that introduced over fifty students to ChatGPT and other emerging tools. I showed attendees how to leverage AI to enhance their research and studies, and by the end of the session, they had created website outlines in just forty-five minutes. Seeing their excitement and confidence grow as they discovered how AI could streamline their work was incredible. On top of that, we raised over $200 from the event, which made the whole experience even more rewarding.

As VP of Programming, I organized guest speakers, and one of my proudest moments was bringing in Justin, the head of marketing for GEMS American Academy in Qatar. GEMS is the largest privately owned school franchise in the world, and Justin manages marketing efforts for one of its key branches. Having him share insights on running successful campaigns and navigating his career was both inspiring and insightful. I also led fun icebreakers, including a scavenger hunt that challenged members with creative tasks while fostering teamwork. Another highlight was collaborating with the Women in Business club, where I ran resume workshops, sharing advice I had gathered from top resumes on campus and my mentors. From workshops to events, I worked hard to make AMA a space where members could learn, connect, and have fun all at once.
